Big Girl Pants

No, I'm not talking about PhD-related weight gain!
This semester there have been several milestones that have marked that I am, in fact, an adult.

First, I celebrated my 30th on Mardi Gras day.  I even ended up with 2 zulu coconuts!

Academically, I feel like my dissertation is really coming together, yet becoming more nebulous- if that is possible.  I'm applying for big grants now.  True, I am still cobbling together money for the summer from piddley grants, but I am also applying for dissertation improvement grants.  It is so exciting that I want to vomit and then cry.
