Edit, Edit, Edit

I've been writing like a mad woman for the past two months.  Now I'm in the editing phase.  This phase is much less rewarding than the writing phase.  There are no massive word counts to show for the hours of work--just an aneurism from reading my poorly written drafts.  It is sightly disheartening.  But I'm trying to stay motivated with embarrassing music selections on my Pandora and Dr Peppers!

On a completely random note: I watched Rudy last night; why are there no inspirational PhD movies?

  1. Oh, I like the editing phase of any piece since the text becomes tighter, clearer and more to the point. But I must set it aside for a few days after I've written it so that I can see it with fresh eyes again. Editing it otherwise becomes a disheartening process as you say. Good point about movies..but I somehow don't think that inspirational PhD films would make money...and I suspect that's the bottom line. :-(
